Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been pulling together here in our community. I asked myself "How can we get through this and be better than we were before? ".

Enter the experiment. This has become something that I really look forward to.

We have regular hangouts on my Play Guitar Academy YouTube channel. all at 4pm EDT from Friday to Monday every week.

It has been fantastic! it started out as a way to deal with the current situation and not just be overwhelmed.

When I start to get overwhelmed, I always feel better with a project, something positive I can focus on. A distraction that's purpose is to provide good results.

So, we get together on YouTube, share our stories, and talk and play a lot of guitar. it's great and you are welcome to join us.

One of the things that has come up is to have some sort of challenge. Big thanks to Chris for the Idea for a lick building challenge. 

We got to work over the past few days and worked it out. It's been so valuable that I wanted to bring this opportunity for something different to you.

So let's get started.

The challenge is very simple, use a certain set of notes for a lick. That's it. Everything else is up for grabs. Any key, any chord progressions, any style. It's up to you. Then we share them and see all of the awesome ideas from our awesome community. 

Here are the steps:

• Get your worksheet with the notes and tips. Go to https://www.playguitaracademy.com/lickbuildingchallenge and sign up for the free download. 
• Create your lick
• Record your lick with your phone.
• Share it in our Facebook Group. Just go to: http://playguitargroup.com, signup, and upload it as a post.
• Then check out all of the other community members licks and find out all about it on next weeks podcast!
